Disc Writeup - Cyclone Z
Under 300 Feet 300-400 Feet More Than 400 Feet
Into Moderate Wind
Light wind will have little effect on the Cyclone-Z.

Thrown harder, the Cyclone-Z will begin to turn to the right more than expected.

Throwing really hard doesn't turn the Cyclone-Z to the right more than a 350' throw.
Into Heavy Wind
Not the easiest disc to control into a heavy wind.

Fairly hard throws are just as difficult to control as shorter ones in this wind.

Glide
The Cyclone-Z has decent glide, but will cut back hard as it slows down.

When thrown at this speed, the Cyclone-Z has great glide and doesn't fall off until the very end.

The Cyclone-Z has an amazing amount of glide for those players who throw very hard. It doesn't fall off until the last 40'-50' which is not much for throws of this length.
Left Turns
The Cyclone-Z will turn left fairly hard on shorter throws.

It will turn left just fine as long as you start it off this way.

Not easy to keep it going left when thrown at fast speeds. Other discs are much better for this.
Right Turns
Very hard to keep it going right at slower speeds.

As long as you start it going right, it will stay that way most of its flight. However, plan on it fighting back left at the very end.

The Cyclone-Z is a great right turn disc as long as it's thrown hard enough and with enough spin to keep it going right.
Rollers
Not good for most rollers except for those where you want the disc to cut to the left.

Hard to turn enough to get this kind of distance.

Very hard to turn enough to get huge roller distance.
Skip Shots
Has a tendency to get flat after skipping which gives it good distance after contact.
N/A N/A
Straight Throws
Turns a little too hard to the left to be a good straight flyer at slower speeds.

At faster speeds the Cyclone-Z will fly perfectly straight for a long way. This is an awesome disc for this shot.

You'll need to throw it with a slight left turn angle because it will turn a little out of your hand. However, once this disc gets flat, it will stay that way for a long time. You will be seeing a lot of top pros using the Cyclone-Z for this shot.
Upside Down Throws
The Cyclone-Z has a steady, slow turn in the air when thrown upside down. The Z plastic will keep this disc fairly new, even with the hard impacts that come with this shot.

If you are able to throw upside down this far then you have a tremendous weapon that you shouldn't hesitate to use in the right situation. The Cyclone-Z is great for this shot for the same reasons as the other upside down throw.
N/A
Putting
Not good at all for putting.
Approaching
The only approach you may consider using the Cyclone-Z for is a sharp left turn.
Distance
This won't be the disc to set a world distance record but will still fly farther than most others. Its ability to keep its line on longer throws makes it a great choice for long holes.
Best Beginner Use The Cyclone-Z is a great left-turn driver on most holes. It won't be as hard to control as a severe left turn driver, but will still fight to keep going that direction.
Best Intermediate Use Once the Cyclone-Z is thrown hard enough to fly over 300 feet you will soon discover that it flies straight as well as, if not better than, any other disc out there. Very few discs have this ability.
Best Pro Use The Cyclone-Z is great for those 300'-400' straight shots, but many pros choose to throw an approach disc here. What those power players will find this disc is best for are those long, right turn holes where you don't want the disc to fall off too hard at the end of the flight. All discs will fall off some but the Cyclone-Z will fall off less than others.
Final Comments The Cyclone is the best-selling driver of all time, so it doesn't surprise me at all that the Cyclone-Z is such a good disc. Releasing the Cyclone in Z plastic will allow many newer players to "discover" how good the Cyclone really is. I can guarantee that nearly every Discraft Team member will have this disc in their bag.
