Disc Writeup - Hawk Z |

Under 300 Feet |
300-400 Feet |
 More Than 400 Feet |
| Into Moderate Wind |
Light wind will have almost no effect on the Hawk-Z. |
Thrown harder, the Hawk-Z will hang on to its angle and still glide well.

| Into Heavy Wind |
It's a pretty good approach disc in a heavy wind but still not as good as a driver. |
It would be very difficult to get this disc to fly 300' into a heavy wind, but not impossible for big arms. Like the shorter throws into heavy winds, a driver is a better choice. |

| Glide |
The Hawk-Z has good glide, but because of its tendency to turn slightly left, it won't glide as much as a Elite MRV or Pro-D/Elite Hawk. |
When thrown at this speed, the Hawk-Z will glide well but at the very end of its flight it will still fade off a little left.

| Left Turns |
The Hawk-Z will turn left some which makes it a great choice for this shot. |
At higher speeds it will not turn left as hard but is still a decent choice if you have the arm. |
N/A |
| Right Turns |
It will turn right if you start it off that way, but there are better choices like the Elite-MRV. |
Same as the shorter throws. |
N/A |
| Rollers |
Not a bad choice for short rollers but so is almost any approach disc. |
Not the disc for this shot. |

| Skip Shots |
I'm not a fan of approach discs for skip shots except for the MRX. |

| Straight Throws |
I almost could have given this disc 5 Z's but it turns left just a little too much. It's still a great disc for this shot though. |
At this speed the Hawk-Z will fly straight until the end of its flight. It's as good of a straight flyer as there is if you have the arm to make it work here. |

| Upside Down Throws |
All Z Series discs get an extra Z just because the plastic holds up so well, but other than that, the Hawk-Z is not a good choice here. |

| Putting |
It's not the worst choice for a putter but since there are so many good putters out there, I wouldn't recommend using the Hawk-Z for this shot. |
| Approaching |
This is where the Hawk-Z shines. When it turns, it has more of a hard left than the MRV-Z and should be thrown accordingly. But it is great for that shot! |
| Distance |
 Not a distance disc. |
| Best Beginner Use |
The Hawk-Z is a great left turn approach disc. |
| Best Intermediate Use |
Same as above but also good for shorter drives on slight left turn holes. |
| Best Pro Use |
The Hawk-Z will hold its line on drives where other approach discs will turn over, especially longer holes that the big arms can reach with these shorter-flying discs. |
| Final Comments |
The Hawk-Z gives another slight variation in flight characteristics for our approach disc line. It isn't better or worse than the other approach discs, just a little different. If you like the way it flies, then stick it in your bag as your main approach disc. Or use it along side the Elite MRV for those left turn shots only! |
